Wordpress is great for getting up and running very quickly. For the majority of people out there I think it's great, however for a PHP developer it's really not what I would prefer to blog in.

I would much rather build a blog into a site, instead of building a site around blogging software.

Thanks to the Yii framework, I was able to get up and running with this blog software, and now I'll have the Yii framework as the backbone, and not just blogging software.

I can already tell after doing some customizations that this is going to go well.

I'd like to make my site/blog Yii powered too, but I haven't got much time for adding features to yii blog.So I'm using wordpress.

I'm doing a project using Yii framework too, and I'm studying it these days. I'll use Yii to build my blog in the future , just because its structure is so beautiful~~ "easy, efficient, extensible" , Yii did it.

I'm still learning to use Yii as a framework but to use it as a backbone for a blog it's too complicated to me. Wordpress is easy becasue of many different themes and widgets you can find arround, maybe in time there will be more additions to Yii in that matter.

You are absolutely right. I had most of people landing to wordpress. After getting into YII and going through the blog demo. I have created a blog in yii and also from the same blog I have extended to add more features with modules and the site is now big. Congs to Yii.
